  3. I cam across your posting on a different web page while searching for homemade pancetta. I am very impressed with your culinary adventures! You seem committed to doing things using the proper artisinal methods, and I love love that!

Have you ever ordered from MarxFoods? I've been dying to try them for my next dinner party...or any excuse I can come up with. I'm in Southern California too, if you'd ever be interested in splitting a shipment (they only sell in bulk) I'd be down!

  4. Hi Cherie - I'd never heard of MarxFoods before, but I just checked out their website. Pretty cool selection of stuff. The next time I need kangaroo meat, I'll know where to look!

  6. Hi, using your receipes for Indian takeaway, Saag, Lamb Rogan Josh and Pulao Rice, I made a fantastic meal yesterday (Sunday), my family loved it! I served this meal with Mango Lassie and Naan bread from Trader Joe's, warmed in the oven.

  7. Hi guys,
I just discovered your blog as a link, I think from Seasons of My Heart cooking school site. My husband and I have a vacation house in Oaxaca so whenever I need a little photographic "fix" of Oaxaca, I will visit your blog! Great photos, food hints and comments! Keep up the good work!

  8. Hey guys,

I stumbled onto your site because I googled Ba Ren. I guess I should try that restaurant. Your site is great! Love the pictures and obviously the food. Keep it up. Unfortunately, I am allergic to beer, but I enjoy wine with all my food!

  9. Wow, what an amazing site! I came across it looking for information on Charcuterie made at home, and you totally got me hooked. I ordered Charcuterie: The Craft of Salting, Smoking, and Curing last night. I am an avid home brewer (I am really getting into Belgian Sour/Funky beers and American Wild Ales) and have a chest freezer (soon to be a curing fridge as well). I also noticed you guys live in San Diego, as do I. I may be contacting you for info as I delve into the wonderful world of Charcuterie. Can't wait to read more of your posts, simply amazing!

  13. Excellent site. Can just about taste the Tuscan Salami. Was stationed a couple years in Diego, unfortunately, was at sea most of the time. Fondly remember the Harbor House (gone now), Ruben E. Lee, Mexican Village and Tarantinos. Nest time in NOLA try Rocky and Carlo's in Chalmette. Nothing fancy just good eats.

  14. Hey guys,
I StumbledUpon your blog and I love it. I'm a native San Diegan (family lives in La Mesa right now) but I'm in New Jersey going to college. Reading your blog satisfies me by giving me great recipes that are even college-student friendly as well as reminding me of home! It's great!

  18. Hi there,

I've set upon a quest to try and recreate the restraunt curry in the home. Only tastier , lower fat and cheaper. I've tried a number of recipies and last night struck gold in the form of this rather charming website.

Its odd to me how such a quest could unearth such a gem - and not just in curry terms.

Love reading about your culinary exploits and also love the photos!

  19. Hi guys, you have a brilliant site, it got me into charcuterie and so far the Italian sasages, the pancetta tesa and bacon have all been so good that SWMBO 'approved' the purchase of a domestic size meat slicer?

I want to branch out and your coppa looks great but it would be nice to have the foreshadowed recipe. Hint, hint!

Thanks so much for your efforts, John
PS We live on the Gold Coast,Queensland, Australia. Beautiful one day - perfect the next!
